After winning three Olympic and several world gold medals in fencing, Dorina began dedicating herself to cycling at the age of 37. Since 2000, she has raced as an amateur professional in more than 100 Granfondo races, with several wins under her belt. She has also participated in road races, winning the 2003 Italian women’s title and coming in second place in the world sprint competition. In 2005, she raced for the season as a professional cyclist.
In 2014, Dorina began concentrating on endurance vs speed and switched her focus to UltraCycling, where she has emerged as a sheer powerhouse. She won her first UltraCycling race in 2016, the mythic D+ Ultracycling Dolomitica, and finished the year in 1st place for Women’s Italian Ultracycling. In 2017 she moved to the United States where she won several races, including most recently, the 2018 Race Across the West (RAW).
Dorina is an avid participant in all of the San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz, and Davis Randonneurs events and in 2019 participated in her second global Randonnee, the famous Paris-Brest-Paris.
